Returned in July to play WhaleSonging & Away with the Faeries,
with a much improved system over my debut visit’s rendition of those two songs,
allowing more confident looping & dub section for
WhaleSonging .
Confession- for debut performance of Away with the Faeries
I had bottled my original intention of playing the synth bassline live on Launchpad keyboard & reverted to electro-muso scene changing –
another year’s practice & I was ready to play it live .
Went well & felt great .

March 26 Falmouth EOMN
Returned in March for a second attempt at playing
SquareCircling & Hyperspace ,
having spent previous months optimising the system
& hopefully sorting out the audio issue that stopped
live bass performance previous July 25 visit …
Happily it all worked & it was great to give the songs the full bass workout ,
as the video snippets show : -
End of Year Update
Have spent last few months updating & optimising the performance system,
based on my learnings from the valuable experience of playing 2 Falmouth EOMNs.
Also improving the current songs & working to add more .
Have NOT been updating this website as I had hoped .
Have also not finished “WhaleSonging” studio performance video ,
planned as the “hard launch” of BoomBazzle project ,
so that is the plan for start of 2026 .Belated July EOMN Report
It was great to play out another 2 songs ,
although a technical problem curtailed live bass playing ,
so performance was electronic musician style. -
Debut success @ Falmouth EOMN
Overall the debut performance was a success ;
Hardware plan worked well , surviving transportation & 10 min setup .
Audience seemed to enjoy the 2 songs , with dancing & much appreciation .
Performance system worked , & when the first loop recorded came back in time
it was a great feeling .Some issue with onstage sound , couldn’t hear the mix clearly enough ,
which affected my bass playing & inhibited much dubby fx jamming .
FOH sound was fine for audience , & video clips seem to show ,
but lesson learnt I will be trying IEMs next time .Thanks to all for a great night ,
back again in a few months I believe , with 2 different songs …

BoomBox in final stages
Getting ready to Bazzle .

Almost finished customising the BoomBox , in a smaller case than previously shown .
XTouch Compact sits on raised shelf (hopefully adding bracing) , Lauchpad Xs stored underneath . Monitor is removed from stand in middle to show Babyface interface on top of MacMini in top left corner , with XLR outputs top right.
USB hubs & cabling need final fixing , but it’s working -
Bamboozled until BoomBazzle struck !
Conceived by the playful abstraction of my own mind ,
having longtime been searching for a name that referenced bass & ideally electronica, & maybe sounded Cornish-y,
the twisting of “bamboozle” to create “boombazzle” was a kiss from the Muse .Tentative googling revealed , unlike so many previous hopeful ideas dashed on the rocks of already existing search results ,
there was no existing user of the boombazzle name for a musical entity.Domain .com name, BandCamp & FaceBook all remarkably available for the registering ,
I assumed the artistic identity of BoomBazzle –
hoping to live up to the Boom & dazzle with the Bazzle .
